Zach Johnson, of Mission Driven Ministries, talks with us about how using MoonClerk with his nonprofit’s Squarespace website gave him the ability to add recurring donors he otherwise wouldn’t have been able to add.

Can you tell us a little about what your organization does?

Mission Driven Ministries is focused on sharing the gospel of Christ with people around the world by applying the gospel to their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.

What are your day-to-day responsibilities?

I’m a professional lunch-eater and coffee-drinker! As Chief Philanthropy Officer of Mission Driven Research and President of Mission Driven Ministries, my core business is connecting the people that are doing good with the resources that make them successful.

How did your nonprofit get started?

An engineer, accountant, and businessman got together to start a company where the profits go to Christian ministries rather than the owners or shareholders. My job is to use the profits of MDR and donations from donors to fulfill our purpose statement to the glory of God.

What have been some key factors in growing your organization?

We believe that as we are faithful to the job God has called us to, we’re successful. We have seen tremendous growth, but it’s not our primary focus. Our primary purpose is to glorify God and be faithful as He provides us with people and resources.

What do you use MoonClerk for?

Our nonprofit website is hosted by Squarespace, so when it came time to set up a way to accept recurring donations, MoonClerk was the best way to integrate that capability into our website.

Did you use another payment system before MoonClerk?

We’ve used PayPal in the past, but there was no easy integration with Squarespace nor could we get recurring donations set up the way we wanted. It was frustrating for our donors not to be able to have their donations handled automatically.

What made you finally decide to use MoonClerk?

When I contacted Squarespace about our issues, they pointed us to MoonClerk.

What was your experience when getting started with MoonClerk?

MoonClerk was intuitive and integrated perfectly with our website.

What do you like about MoonClerk?

The customizable payment forms are great. Yesterday we decided we needed to gather an address from donors and we were able to add that required field in a couple of minutes.

It’s easy to see our weekly and monthly giving, and I enjoy getting email alerts when someone has made a donation.

How has MoonClerk helped your nonprofit?

We have 7 new recurring donations we would have been unable to receive before we started using MoonClerk.

Would you recommend MoonClerk to others?

I have! Anyone who uses Squarespace will enjoy the easy integration.
