How Virtual Training Revolution Utilizes MoonClerk To Achieve 75% Client Retention

Jeff McMahon, founder of Virtual Training Revolution, talks with us about how his switch from PayPayl and Venmo to MoonClerk helped him improve client retention to 75%.

Can you tell us a little about your business?

My organization is a virtual personal training business. We do 1-on-1 virtual training through Zoom or Facetime and help people get healthy working out at home all over the world. We have people in China, Colombia, Switzerland, Iceland, England, Puerto Rico, Canada, and all over the USA. We hold people accountable to their fitness goals and make it convenient, so they show up every time and get the results they want! 

What are your day-to-day responsibilities?

I am the trainer, so my duties are to train everyone each day, create their programs, answer questions, handle scheduling – everything that’s needed to run the business successfully. 

How did you get started?

We started out as a personal training in person studio, but because of COVID, everything transformed to virtual, and we never went back. People like the convenience of being home, the time they save so they can move on with their day, and being able to get the same results they would from going to a gym.

What have been some key factors in growing your business?

COVID and social media have been the biggest factors for our growth. Before COVID not a lot of people knew about Zoom or Facetime calls, but now that they are both more mainstream, it is an easier barrier to entry to convince people to stay home and workout versus needing to go to a gym.

What do you use MoonClerk for?

I use MoonClerk to handle all my finances for recurring payments. I can set people up with a simple link, and then handle the rest on my end. It’s way easier than using PayPal or Stripe.  MoonClerk really made recurring payments a breeze for me!

What problems did you have with your previous payment system?

I used to exclusively use PayPal for my payments and then I used Venmo. But, trying to get everything set up for recurring payments with those systems was not easy. It was a big pain in the butt to have to remind people to pay me. Then, I had to track down them down for the payments. Streamlining the payment process now with MoonClerk just makes my life that much easier and I can see all my data a lot more easily.

A client of mine was using MoonClerk and recommended it to me. Ever since I signed up, I haven’t gone back. Getting started with MoonClerk was a breeze, and after I connected it to my Stripe account, I haven’t had any issues, which has been a blessing. 

What specific feature do you like most about MoonClerk?

The feature I like most about MoonClerk is being able to sort the recurring plans to see who is active and who isn’t and when the money is to be collected for that person. That makes my life a lot easier and allows me to stay on top of current clients versus past clients.
